NYNY. So good we’d stay there twice…

If you are looking for a good hotel in Las Vegas, then I’m afraid to say you are spoiled for choice.   And we are no experts, as we’ve only been the once, and we’ve only had one experience of a hotel over there.   But it was a good experience, so we will tell you more…

REV IEW BLE TCH LEY PAR K…

For a long time one of Great Britain’s best kept secrets, when the activities of Bletchley Park were final revealed to all after it was declassified under the Official Secrets Act, a race was underway to restore the rapidly decaying huts where hundreds of men and women (mostly women) served relentlessly to decipher enemy messages which were to shorten the war significantly.

Many years later, and after many years of tireless restoration, the Park now stands to inform and commemorate many unsung heroes of the second world war.

Review: Fort D’Auvergne Hotel, Jersey

In July 2017 we took a small break to Jersey in the Channel Islands to celebrate Sue’s mmmthieth birthday.    This trip had been prompted by two reward tickets with Flybe, which we had accumulated on our Flybe credit card (see our credit card post for more information).  But when we came to book our hotel via my favourite website Booking.com, finding an hotel was a different matter!   After much searching, we came upon this little gem nestled directly on the beach.   Perfect?   Read on. Review : Dolni Lanov, Czech Republic

Travelling around the world for my company has been a mixed bag of good and bad moments, but one highlight on every trip has been the really nice people I have met along the way, and the special friendships I have made with many of them.

One person in my mind stands up at the top of my list of overseas friends, and that is my good friend Mr Josef Vodehnal, from the beautiful village of Dolní Lánov in the Czech Republic.

After talking about it for many years, last year I finally managed to make a visit to his home town and experience for myself the stunning scenery he had described every time we met.    This is my account of that visit… Continue reading “Review : Dolni Lanov, Czech Republic”
