Review: Fiesta Cala Nova, Ibiza

Nestled next to a small beach at the northern end of Es Cana, Ibiza, the Fiesta Cala Nova is a traditional three star Spanish hotel which probably hasn’t change much in terms of style since it was built, and yet shows little sign of wear and manages to keep up very high standards.

Best laid plans…

So, Ibiza is apparently well known for its beautiful sunsets. Now I don’t want to burst this particular marketing bubble but I’m fairly sure it will be a similar sunset to the ones in Majorca and Menorca and other nearby locations. Putting that aside, it helps if you are sat on the west coast when it happens (on on the Port side of a cruise ship sailing north). Unfortunately for us, our hotel in Es Cana faces due east so sunsets aren’t its biggest asset. Sunrises on the other hand should be equally awesome… Continue reading “Best laid plans…” →

Tucked on the A5 near Hockcliffe, the Red Wings Lodge Dunstable is a basic but friendly motel style hotel, reminiscent of travelodge, but with a few personal, friendly touches that probably elevate it slightly above the normal travelodge standard.
