Another great family holiday!

It is always nice to go on holiday with family but what I do like is those little pre- and post-holiday moments that add to the excitement and satisfaction.

On this occasion we stayed over the night before, had a nice meal in the local pub, spent the night watching Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2 and then had a great shopping day in Southampton before joining our ship.

It was really special to spend that little extra time, and I really enjoyed having some male company instead of being surrounded by women, as has been the case for years.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and I’m hoping that the rest of the family, my wife, mother and daughters as well as our new first time cruisers, enjoyed it too, and maybe one day will join us again.  Thanks to all for making a really special time.

Disappointed we didn’t pull off the engagement scam though – that banner cost me 99p!

Photos have started appearing on Rob and Sue’s Worldtraveller facebook page. and the video will be (eventually) posted on our youtube channel – but that’s a while down the road.

So why not join me and explore our ship and vacation ports of call first hand ?

Progress Report!

Arrived today in Gibraltar, our first port of call on our voyage around the Mediterranean. It’s been an uneventful sail through down the bay of biscay and along the coast of Portugal yesterday -although overcast the sun has caught some of us unaware and now they are red faced for the wrong reasons! It’s a shorter than normal stay so it’s a quick lunch on the high street and back on board ready for our next day at sea. Talk soon!

Countdown commences…

Not long before our next excursion starts.  I was just wondering where our hotel was at the moment; it’s currently relocating from the Caribbean and will be arriving for a three day stop over in Southampton before starting the first of its med’ cruises.   Time to start Operation Sail Away!

!

Easter plans?

Well, the first bank holiday of the year is upon us, with the inevitable queues on the roads as everyone heads off for their favourite holiday destination. Me? I’m staying at home because Sue is working everyday over the holidays. I’ve got plans, but no doubt there are other plans which I’m not yet privvy to which will take precedent.  But if I were going away for the weekend, where would we go?

Coming up, some of our favourite bank holiday suggestions…

Dragging myself into the 20th century…

So, just been watching youtube trying to get a few tips for my forthcoming introduction into the world of vlogging, and there are some really good travel bloggers already out there, and it’s made me think a bit about what I want to achieve – but more on that later.  One thing I did notice is they all talk about their ‘instagram’ photos, and I haven’t a clue what they are on about! My experience with RCI

“RCI – the largest timeshare vacation exchange network in the world”

The following is a brief synopsis of our experience with the RCI timeshare company.  It is my own view, and has only been influenced with my own experience with them.

Resort Condominiums International, or RCI as they are popularly known, are a holiday exchange service which we became involved with as part of the time share scheme we signed up for with the Bahia Principe Privilege Club.    Continue reading “My experience with RCI”
